Fraudsters Posted a Link and Information About a Fake Token Release

The Litecoin project page on the X microblogging platform was hacked. This was reported by Money at Home on Monday, January 13, citing a message from the team on the restored account.

The incident occurred on January 11.

Project representatives stated that the page was compromised through a delegated account, which was subsequently blocked. Nevertheless, the hackers managed to post information about the launch of a “new token on the Solana blockchain.” The attackers also included a link leading to a fraudulent resource.

The message about the fake asset remained online for only a few seconds. The Litecoin team continues to investigate the incident.

Previously, Money at Home reported that Meta shareholders are proposing to invest part of the company’s assets in Bitcoin.
