According to the initiators of the idea, this step could help protect the company’s funds from inflation
One of Meta’s shareholders, Ethan Peck, presented a group proposal from several stockholders, suggesting that the management convert part of its assets into Bitcoin. This was reported by Money at Home on Sunday, January 12, citing a post by Bitcoin expert and Jubilee Royalty founder Tim Kotzman on X microblogging platform.
In his proposal, Peck emphasizes that over the past five years, the leading cryptocurrency has outperformed traditional financial instruments (such as securities) by 1,262% in growth. The shareholders believe that such a move could safeguard the tech giant’s assets against inflation.
However, it is worth noting that large corporations have so far been hesitant to invest in cryptocurrency due to the market’s high volatility.
