Most users who invested in the new cryptocurrencies suffered losses, but some made significant profits
Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) shared a story and a photo of his dog named Broccoli, which led to the creation of numerous memecoins on the BNB Chain related to his pet. According to Money at Home, which cited the Binance co-founder’s post, this happened on Friday, February 14.
It is worth noting that CZ himself fueled the crypto community’s interest when he announced the post. However, he clarified that he is not involved in the issuance of new memecoins and plans to focus on other coins.
Changpeng Zhao:
«I’m just posting a photo of my dog and its name, not launching memecoins myself. It depends on the community (or maybe it doesn’t). Most likely, I will interact with a few of the more popular tokens on BNB Chain».
The former Binance CEO also mentioned that the BNB fund might reward the most successful coins, but details on this will be disclosed later.
Among the newly launched coins, the most successful so far is the BROCCOLI token, which has been listed on several centralized exchanges. Most users who tried to profit from the hype around the memecoin lost their funds. However, some managed to multiply their investments. One trader, for example, invested 1 BNB (worth $707 at the time of the transaction) into BROCCOLI and, within minutes, sold his assets for nearly $7 million—an increase of 9,900 times.
Previously, Money at Home reported that the release of the DeepSeek AI model triggered the creation of numerous fake tokens and projects.
